Finn was determined that we would all play hide and seek tonight and he was simply being too cute to refuse.
First he went and hid from Nicky. Happily this was not tricky as he giggled constantly once she called “coming ready or not”. His nervous and joyous giggling pretty much defined the whole game.
So we all took a couple of turns before his bedtime. I suspect he would have played all night if we’d agreed to it.
Yesterday one of the childcare mums spent the day there doing face painting with the kids. Finn came home as our little tiger.
Unfortunately the face paint was not as washable as it might have been so, in spite of vigorous scrubbing last night, traces of our tiger can still be seen this morning.
We had a lovely day today on the trains at Queenscliff. We took a couple of proper train rides and had a ride in a Troublesome Truck in the rain.
I’d say more but there are no braincells left after all of that.
Finn has been to bowling before today just one and while he didn’t actually bowl he still managed to sustain a very small bowling injury. Today, however, he actually bowled and once he got over the shock of having to change his shoes he really enjoyed it.
He used the ramp and buffers, as little kids do, and even took to setting to ball rolling of the ramp with his forehead rather than his hands. It was very Zen.
And, importantly, he got a better score than his Dad on both games.
Finn does spent a whole lot of time being quite oblivious to Leila but when he does notice her it is to share a kind word or to try to entertain her.
Just yesterday he insisted on having a cuddle with her which was entirely lovely. I am not sure that she quite knew what was going on but he was having a terrific time.
