Finn loves trains, especially Thomas, so we have been meaning to take him on a trip for a while now. Today we finally got organised and went two stations down the line to the beach for about an hour.
Finn seemed to really enjoy the train and the journey generally. Sadly it was a bit cold to stay there too long. All the same we now know what a good traveller he is so I am sure he won’t have to wait so long for his second trip.

Of course at childcare they don’t know that I sometimes call Finn possum features so they made him look like a cat. This was very cute, he even meowed at me.

Finn has enjoyed drawing for a while now but util now it has been really scribbling more than drawing. This morning I drew a rocket and robot for him (A Big Day Out was very popular with him) and then he told me he was going to draw the sun.
So he stood up tall to reach up high and drew the sun you can see in the picture.
I was very impressed but he just looked like he draws things all the time. He also did the eyes on the robot incidentally.

Today has been brought to you by the phrase “who’s that?”
Over and over and over.

Since he has been wearing his hearing aids so much Finn’s speech as shot along. He also has key phrases that most conversation is centred around. For the last few days everything is “orange”. Obviously this is used to describe colours, most of them in fact, but also everything else in the conversation.
We asked Finn what he thought we should call the new chooks and his answer, of course, was Orange.
Another popular one is “hiding in the water” which describes teddies under the doona and also an absent parent, “Mum’s hiding in the water”.
Tonight I as I tucked Finn in under the doona I asked if the were hiding in the water. “No”, he said, “going to sleep”.
And so he did.
