The Blowing Thing

Finn had a lovely time this weekend gone down on a farm with heaps of people around. He got to ride in the back of a ute, wander around the paddocks, talk to the ducks and follow his new hero Milly around.

You can’t ask for much more in a weekend.

Blaming The Fumes

22 02 2006

When I collected Finn yesterday I could still smell the chemicals in that purple hair colour. And within an hour I wondered if the fumes had put him in a particularly bad mood.

At home he just cracked the sads about everything. He wanted a wiggle biscuit which I eventually provided. But then he sobbed because he wanted a bowl of them (I had made themistake days earlier of giving him the last three broken ones from the previous packet in a bowl). I tried to get him to settle for two in a bowl what that resulted in more tantrums.

This continued well into the bath to remove said purple colour. As an aside it left a pink strain around the bath and a pink line on Finn which reminded me of the Cat in the Hat.

Finally he went to bed and a little while later Nicky came home (she had to work late) and I went to see if he was still awake. And awake he was but with no pants or nappy on. So he got up to dress which I put a new sheet on and Bernard went into the washing machine.

So there was much angst about poor Bernard and screaming when he went to bed.

I think blonde/brown is quite fine from now on.

Crazy Hair Day

Crazy Hair Day

This morning we did Finn’s hair all purple again for crazy hair day. I think he looks a little like he is ready for the Green Day Kids. Most of the other kids just have spikey gelled hair so Finn looks entirely the most groovy kid there.

Hanging Around

Hanging Around

I am sure we look back fondly on the days when Finn didn’t hang from things into mid-air (of increasing quantities)

Purple Headed Kid

19 02 2006

It is coloured hair day at childcare on Tuesday but we thought it best to do a test run today. Finn kept asking for more colour but we only used it sparingly because we didn’t want to run out on Tuesday morning.

At The Zoo

Cousins On Tap

Today we spent heaps of time with Cousin Dan and family at the Zoo and their place. It was ace.

Jolly Jumper

New Jumper Boy

Here is the boy in the new jumper that his Mum made for him. It’s far too warm for a hot day like today but we had to just see it on. Happily it is a good fit and he looks especially dashing in it.

Bossy Flossy

16 02 2006

As is fairly typical of toddlers, I believe, Finn has becomes quite bossy these days and also prone to throwing fits when we do something horrible like turning the telly off.

As a result I have taken to telly him that we should call him Bossy Flossy. Yesterday he said something very much like “No, Dad Bossy Flossy”.

I’ve been told.

Monkey Business

14 02 2006

Hello Monkey

Finn is very fond of his little people and often organised conversation between them. What you can see a little of here is a person in each hand saying hello to monkey and the polar bear in their little zoo.

Pick That Song

Pour That Water Over Me

Finn latest movie is with his cousin Dan and the song I used for the soundtrack is the Beatles tune Two Of Us performed by Neil and Liam Finn. Whenever Finn gets to sit with me at the computer he asks for ZBinn’s Moobie so he has seen this a few times.

Anyhow we sat in the big white car this morning and this song came on (this time sung by Aimee Mann and Michael Penn) and Finn piped up with “Binn’s Moobie!”

Perhaps you had to be there but I was terribly impressed.
