It seems that the keys on a laptop are quite easy for little fingers to pluck off and they might make a nice noise as they do. What is also amazing is how quickly the owner of said little fingers can remove eight or ten keys.
His father, who has much bigger fingers, takes a lot longer to put them all back on the computer.

Finn has been interested in candles for a while now and last birthday needed a little bit of help from his Mum to blow those two puppies out.
However today, after much recent spluttering and so forth. He blew out all six candles we had going on the table.

Today while we were out shopping we picked up other copy of the Wiggles’ Cold Spaghetti Western for the youngster. The last copy got lost last time we went away and sadly didn’t turn up.
We hoped Finn interest would move on to something but we have had many many requests to watch “Wiggle Cows”. Happily now we can have the of them we want.

Finn is spending today having a relatively quiet day at home with a trip to the shops to change some of his Mum’s new shoes over for ones the right size. I think his health is probably improving a little but he is still prone to making Wookie noises rather than saying actual words to express his general displeasure with life.
Happily he is having a sleep right now. I am sure he will wake up grumpy and cross but for now he is peaceful and resting.

On account of his brand new spots Finn was sent home from childcare today and off to the doctor this afternoon. It seems the spots are viral and unexciting. However he does have tonsilitis and needs a course of antibiotics to return things to normal.
He has his first dose of medicine just a few minutes ago and a chocolate biscuit as a reward. At this rate he won’t mind being sick at all.

Finn and Danny had the best time playing in the wading pool on such a hot day. We set it up for them under the pergola so they would be in the shade and they climbed in and out and in and out again. Each of them looked a bit surprised when they slipped on their bum on the concrete but only confidence was bruised.
There are two photos on Flickr but you need to be tagged as family or friends to see them.

Last night Finn sat through all of The Cat In The Hat. I think it probably still has too many words for his liking but he still managed to pay attention and look interested.

In the past Finn’s uses for block were only spreading them around the room or knocking down a tower of them. Actually it was hard to get him to wait while you built much of a tower before he knocked it down.
But this morning there he was, appropos of nothing, building a tower. He then regarded it for most of a minute before he gently knocked it down and started again.
Perhaps Bob is a good influence on young Finn.

These are bears that must be in bed for sleep can happen. Nicky announced each one as they are places around Finn is bed at night. As you can imagine there is barely room for him in the cot.
On the back row we have (left to right) Earnest, Bernard (The Big Blue Bear) and Booker. In the middle row we have Hubbert and Pooh and in front we have Blanky and Teddy Bear (who came here from Grandma’s and never got a real name).
For those especially interested we have some individual photos of the conference bears.

Finn has had something of an uneven relationship with the shower in his two years. The first time he had a bath at the hospital he carried on and screamed like I was trying to drown him. However soon he came to really enjoyed baths and now always cries when I take him out of the bath.
The first showers Finn had with me were regarded with measured indifference. Then something changed and he consistently carried on like showers were just horrible which always made the end of swimming lessons a bit unpleasant. So we gave up ever giving him a shower at home since it always both started and ended badly. Last week after swimming I skipped the shower as well as just gave him a bath at home.
Today I was feeling foolhardy so I tried the shower again and he loved it. After I turned the water off he looked at me very earnestly and said “more shower”.
We didn’t have more shower (I was sick of holding him) but it’s very nice that he wanted more.
