Today Finn did two very cute things. The first was that for the first time ever he talked to his Mum on the speaker phone. Admittedly the conversation didn’t go much past “Mum” but it was clear he know he was talking to her.
And secondly he learned to make that cluck sound with his tongue which is notable because he has always liked it when I make that noise.
He is little mister clever cloggs today.
It seems like just yesterday that young Foozley was only one but in a few weeks he will be a real proper two year old.
This year we are just having small family parties. We don’t mean to be unfriendly to his extended fan base but his parents need something smaller this year. On the bright side we’ll see most of you soon enough social events other kind souls are organising.
I think you can work out from these photos just how much Finn loves playing in the car.
He is just like the kid in that credit card commercial.
Another parent in the street once advised me to never put money in those little rides for kids they have at the shops. Once your kid knew that they moved, she reasoned, you’d never know peace again.
Only a few months ago Finn became interested in these things especially since some are themed Play School, Bananas In Pyjamas and other things dear to a telly watching Foozle. He pretty much always notices them now and wants to stop and play. Like the boy who fed his fish too much we have put coins in and watched him go round and round and round.
The strange thing is that although he still loves these rides and wants to look and climb on them he doesn’t want to actually get on and go for a ride. He just seems content to explore.
Finn went off this morning to get his new set of hearing aids. They say this pair will be better at low frequencies and generally give him a less harsh sound. It is probably just my imagination but already he seems more aware of sounds around him.
Just looking at photos like this I see the toddler less and less and the boy more and more.
And he’s not even two.
I don’t have to be at uni until midday so we thought that young Foozley could have a sleep in since he has been a bit grouchy of late. So in this spirit he woke up at twenty to six and chatted away to himself for a full hour. I went in to see if he had gone back to sleep but he was sitting up straight waiting to be rescued from bed.
This morning Finn not only said “bye bye Mum” but made his little toy dog wave and said what sounded like “dog goes bye bye”.
It was too cute.
