Careful He Might Hear You

28 02 2005

Foozley went off to have his hearing testing with his hearing aids in this morning and the results were very encouraging. With his aids in his he will be able to hear all speech sounds and only miss some of the quieter environmental noises.

Hoorah for Foozley and all his ears.

Changing Rooms

The Massive Blowup Chair

Today we swapped over the spare bedroom and Finn’s bedroom and tidied everything while we were at it. Now his room has much more space and is set up such that he can play in there without destroying anything (including himself).

He particularly liked the big blowup chair which Nicky bought me when we first moved into this house almost five years ago. We had to place him in it to start with but then he would just take himself into his room and climb up into his new favourite chair.

Don’t Go (Don’t Leave Me Now Now Now)

The books will tell you that at around eight months of age babies will experience separation anxiety. Young Foozley was never like this at childcare, perhaps because he has been going since he was he was about four months old.

But a couple of weeks ago he squarked at me when I left him at childcare. Then last week he followed me around and held my leg as I signed him in a so forth. Today he just clung to me like a limpet when we walked into the room.

It’s not that he doesn’t like it there. I guess they all go through this but I do feel sorry for him and it makes it very hard to leave him there. I console myself that when I collect him the saintly women there will tell me he has been in a great mood and no trouble at all.

Couch Potato 2

Couch Potato

It would have taken much time and effort just last week but this morning Finn just climbed up onto the couch during the Fimbles and sat up on the arms of it bouncing and clapping to the song.

Boys Who Go Bump In The Day

23 02 2005

Foozley got a bump on his head today at childcare. This happens all the time. Probably once a week I have to sign a form to acknowledge the latest one. But today they called which had me worried for a moment or two.

But it is not so bad as you can see in the photo.

In order to cut his hair we wet it which actually didn’t help at all. It did make him look like he had been playing with the power points though.

Walking Around The Park

17 02 2005

Since Foozley is now walking I thought he might enjoy trips to the park more than he did when we was just crawling.

We probably spent three quarters of an hour there and he had a lovely time. There was even a primary school aged boy there showing off for Foozley.

Some photos if you’re interested.

Foozley Darcy

Charge

Aunty Rad think that Finn looks like Colin Firth in this jumper. Finn’s faja would be happy to look like Colin Firsth any day of the week.

Chatterbox

15 02 2005

Foozley was a bit out of sorts yesterday with an explosive bottom and no appetite. So it was not a massive surprise when he was heard talking away to himself on the baby monitor at midnight.

After a bottle he settled a bit but there was still times during the rest of the night when this little one-sided conversation could be heard.

How The Other Half Live

Measure Of A Boy

It was suitably warm today for Foozley to use his wading pool outdoors and actually full of water. Until now it has been in the lounge room and full of plastic balls which was a pretty good thing.

A pool full of water is, of course, much better. The dogs kept their distance lest this be a Clever Ruse To Wash Them and Foozley just had the water and cups and bowls all to himself. He had a lovely time and even climbed out a couple of times to investigate things.
