Can I speak to Finn O’Meara?
Mark: No, he’s at child-care…and he’s really little and can’t speak on the phone.
Finn was sleeping through the night with out a bottle but for the last two nights he has not managed it. Which will happen. I am sure we are only weeks away from him sleeping through dependably but sometimes that seems like a long time to wait.
However, since he had a broken nights sleep, he crashed early and is having a sleep now.

This is the boy with the new toy that Nicky got him. He can sit like that for several minutes until he gets distracted and topples over.
When I dropped the Funster off at child-care this morning they were just finishing up breakfast and one of the women asked if he would like some crumpet.
I like crumpets and Nicky loves crumpets so it stands to reason that the Funster would like them.
From the mashed crumpet around his mouth as I left it seems he does.
Nicky had the thought that the Funster didn’t need his night-time bottle and thought we should try to comfort him back to sleep. I was willing to give it a go but, if truth be told, when you are awake in the dead of night you tend to believe in what you know will work (like a bottle).
But we gave it a go all the same.
And it worked. He now goes from 7pm to 7am without a bottle and sleeps most of the time. He wakes and cries when he hits his head on the bars of the cot or loses his dummy but goes back to sleep quickly enough.
Thank Trevor for Nicky and her level head.
Finn slept for all of ten minutes during the six hours he was at child care. And stayed awake for all of the trip home.
But now he is in bed where he belongs and is sleeping soundly.

This is Finn’s first bike, his lovely Mum ordered it for him.
His feet don’t touch the ground yet and he can’t sit up reliably but when he can I am sure it will be go go go .

Finn’s playpen used to be to protect him from the puppies, now it is to keep him from rolling too far. I don’t use it much, only when I need to turn my back on him for 10 seconds.
The boy is sitting here playing with my Ukulele and he is getting some pretty clearing plucking go on there.
It’s a good sign.
Also he has just started lighting up at the sign of the guitar or mandolin, it always gets a massive smile.
