Finn Henry

The Funster will be six months old in a couple of weeks. Somewhere along the way someone sneaked in and took our baby away and left a little boy in his place.

Now he has his hearing aids, not that he wears them as much as he should. He has more hair now. Not as much as his cousins but he looks less like his hair matches mine.

He sleeps though the night perhaps half of the time. All the time will be nice when it happens.

He doesn’t roll but he comes close. Any day now he will surprise us.

He takes some solid food but certainly not eagerly. Hopefully that will come soon.

He can kind of sit up if he has a bit of support, like in his highchair.

He’ll be starting at university soon I expect.

This is the Funster only minutes after he had his hearing aids fitted. He seemed pretty happy and looked very cute.

Little Finn was five months old yesterday.

I am way it seems like we have always had a baby live with us and at other times I am kind of surprised to walk into a room and find him there.

Five months ago he didn’t do much. Now he hollers and smiles and grabs things and stuffs them in his mouth. He makes word like sounds but obviously no words. He rocks around on the ground but cannot roll over yet. He has some hair but it is still fine and a little scarce.

Oh, and of course, he is massive. Not tubby just massive.

Admittedly he was put this way and fell over seconds later. Still we thought it was just too cute

Another of Finn’s new skills is nodding his head. He started doing it on Sunday and has quickly worked out that it’s a really good trick because it gets a great reaction from everyone.

He does it when he’s having a particulary good time. He’ll stop what he’s doing for a second, look straight into your eyes and nod his head three or four times. Of course, the required reaction is to laugh and nod back. You are then rewarded with a big smile.

It proves just what a terribly clever little boy Finn is.

In recent developments Finn jut started really lifting his head up while on his tummy yesterday. He is still some distance from putting together all the pieces of crawling but it was still pretty exciting.

The other exciting thing is that he has started to reach out and grab things. Up until now he has really just waved his arms around and grabbed whatever he connected with.

He is very considerate in doing all of this on the weekend when we are both home
